Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A 24-year-old youth and his teenage cousin reportedly died after their bike was hit by a mini-truck near Ajyori area under Sajeti police station late on Wednesday night, where the driver fled on the spot.
The police secured the truck and sent the bodies for autopsy. In this connection, a criminal complaint has been filed, and the search is on for the driver.
The deceased was identified as Sujit of Gangupr and his cousin as Rohit of Kadaura village in Jalaun district.
According to the police, the two had gone to attend a wedding as part of their mutual friend Rupesh's sister's wedding in Tikwapur village. “The accident took place when both were returning home on their bike from Tikwapur,” police said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sajeti Pawan Kumar said a case has been registered against the driver and the mini truck has been impounded. Hunt is about to arrest the fleeing driver. “The bodies of the two youths have been sent for postmortem. The family of both the deceased have been informed,” the SHO said.
